2008 Plumsted Twp Business Directory

     Plumsted Township will once again be hosting The Kenneth H. Francis Memorial Kayak & Canoe Race/Tour on Saturday, May 1st, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.   In addition to this year's water activities we will also be providing live music and hopefully a "Cookout" at Oakford Lake and the nearby gazebo.  If all goes well we will be the first to take advantage of the completed work done to Volunteer Park located off of Evergreen road.

     Last year's race was a big success.  The public awareness brought to New Egypt's Downtown businesses and the area parks adjacent to Crosswicks Creek was substantial.  Coverage of the race was provided by the Examiner and can be viewed here: 2009 KF Memorial Kayak Race.  Plumsted Township's town councilmen awarded the top finishers trophies.  Some wonderful pictures can be viewed here: web album of KF Kayak Race of 2009.

NEW EGYPT DAY
Main Street New Egypt and Plumsted Township will be hosting its annual New Egypt Day festival on May 15th in downtown New Egypt at Oakford Lake Park and across the pedestrian bridge at the Presbyterian Church grounds on Front Street.

Bring the entire family to this old-fashioned street fair for a fun-filled afternoon of live music, great food, rides, games, and activities.

Music will be provided by local country band, Michael Patrick and the Suburban Hillbillies.

     Volunteer Park under construction on Evergreen Road.  The plaza area shown in the picture will contain a memorial to volunteer firemen and first responders.  The canoe/kayak rack is shown in the background.

     A new 24 space municipal parking lot is nearing completion on Main Street near Church Street.  The parking lot is being financed by a zero interest loan by the NJ Department of Community Affairs.  A town clock will be part of the completed plan.
